Both living in Rio de Janeiro, Alves/Lima will be seeded ninth at the FIVB World Championships. The duo has played in just six total events together, but Alves, 29 and 6-2, has been in 10 FIVB World Tour events overall and Lima, 31 and 5-9, has been in 60. In six events entering 2015, Alves/Lima has earned one gold (2014-The Hague) and one fourth place finish. Lima won five gold medals and the 2013 FIVB World Tour point championship with Talita Antunes and Lima has also won the U-21 FIVB World Championships twice (2002-Juliana Felisberta; 2004-Carolina Salgado). While this will be the first FIVB World Championships for Alves, Lima finished 17th in both 2011 (Rome) and 2013 (Stare Jablonki, Poland). Lima also played 28 world tour events with Vivian Cunha and 17 with Antunes.
