Qualifying through NORCECA as a country Uruguay selected Gomez/Nieto who will be seeded 45th at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships. Gomez is 28, 5-11 and Nieto is 29, 5-8 and through 2014 they haven’t played together on the FIVB World Tour. Gomez did play one FIVB event in 2012 (Brasilia) finishing 41st with Lucia Guigou with whom she finished fifth in the 2011 Pan Am Games in Mexico. Nieto has played in two total FIVB events with a 25th place finish in 2014 in Parana, Argentina with Eliza Cabo.
