Canada’s top-ranked team will be seeded 22nd at the FIVB World Championships. Bansley, 27, 5-7 and lives in Toronto, and Pavan, 28, 6-5 and lives in Kitchener, have played in 18 FIVB World Tour events together through 2014 with five fifth-place finishes. Overall, Bansley has played in 52 FIVB events while Pavan has just the 18 with Bansley after a distinguished volleyball career. Pavan was a four-time All-America at the University of Nebraska in the USA where she had a perfect 4.0 grade point average in Biochemistry and was a member of the Canadian National Team. This will be the third FIVB World Championship for Bansley with two 17th-place finishes, 2011 with Elizabeth Maloney and 2013 with Pavan. It’s will be Pavan’s second trip to the showcase event.
