Two-time German Olympian Ludwig and Walkenhorst will be seeded 11 at the FIVB World Championships. Ludwig, 29 and 5-10, lives in Kiel while Walkenhorst, 24, 6-1 resides in Hamburg and together a sickness interrupted their partnership and they have played together in 15 total FIVB World Tour events through 2014 with one gold medal (2014-Shanghai), two silvers, two bronze, one fourth and three fifth-place finishes. Overall, Ludwig, who won the 2008 U-19 FIVB World Championships with Jana Kohler, has played in 111 total FIVB international events, including 87 with Sara Goller. Ludwig/Goller finished ninth in the 2008 Olympics and fifth in the 2012 Olympics. Walkenhorst overall has played in 23 total FIVB World Tour stops. This will be Ludwig’s sixth consecutive FIVB World Championships, the first four with Goller (two 17ths followed by two ninths) and 2013 with Walkenhorst (fifth). Ludwig also won six CEV gold medals with Goller.
