Summer School at World Championships

 
Amsterdam, Netherlands, May 19, 2015 - During the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships The Netherlands 2015, the Amsterdam Institute of Sport Science will organize the AISS Summer School: High Performance at the Beach, a five-day study programme for students linked to the World Championships.

The programme is meant for university students with the ambition to work in elite level sports. In five days, the contestants will be introduced  to the dynamics of top sports. Through the Beach Volleyball World Championships, the contestants will get to experience professional sport first hand for five days.

Every day starts at 8.00, with physical training followed by lectures from 10.00 to 14.00. They will sports professionals and researchers who have been invited to speak during the programm. Each day will end with a practical assignment related to the World Championships.

A different theme is chosen for each day. Topics include: injury prevention, fan engagement, embedded science, coaching and management. The AISS Summer School will end with a film festival where students will present their thoughts on video.

Costs: €300 (including accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Students can earn 2 ECTS by taking part in the Summer School.

Signing up for the AISS Summer School is possible until May 25 by sending in a 90 seconds motivational video. 25 students will be selected to take part in the Summer School. For more information and registration, please send an email to info@aiss.nl.
