Amsterdam, the Netherlands, July 1, 2015 – FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° thanked the city and the people of Amsterdam on his popular visit on Wednesday to the capital of the Netherlands, which is one of four host cities of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships The Netherlands 2015.
President Graça is visiting all four cities, including Rotterdam and Apeldoorn on Thursday before ending in The Hague for the semifinals and finals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
"It is a big pleasure to be here in a wonderful city, a city of canals and beautiful people," Dr. Graça said. "The help of the authorities, players, sponsors, volunteers, everybody has made these World Championships the best ever."
Dr. Graça presented a signed ball to Amsterdam City Head of Sport Henk Stokhof as well as an FIVB plaque, while President Graça was presented with a personal picture of the Amsterdam venue, which has regularly hosted sold out crowds.
"I’m very, very proud you are here, on behalf of the city of Amsterdam you honour us with your presence," Mr Stokhof said. "This is taking part in four cities and we in Amsterdam are very proud and as you know we have a party here on the dance square. I hope you come to visit Amsterdam once again.
