Bawden & Clancy avenge earlier FIVB World Tour setback

 
The Hague, The Netherlands, July 1, 2015 - Australians Louise Bawden and Taliqua Clancy an earlier season setback to Isabelle Forrer and Anouk Verge-Depre here Wednesday in the second of four women's elimination matches on the sand of The Hofvijver stadium court in the 2015 FIVB “senior” World Championships by defeating the Swiss pair 2-0 (21-18, 21-14) in 41 minutes.On May 28 at the Russian Grand Slam in Moscow, Forrer and Verge-Depre defeated the Aussies 2-1 (11-21, 23-21, 15-10) in a 45-minute pool play match.  Entering that match, Bawden and Clancy had defeated the Swiss twice during the 2014 season in Germany and Norway.With the win, the 17th-seeded Australians will play either top-seeded Madelein Meppelink/Marleen Van Iersel of The Netherlands or 35th-seeded Karolina Baran/Jagoda Gruszczynska of Poland.  The Dutch vs. Polish match is the final women's elimination contest Wednesday at The Hofvijver stadium court.
