Doppler and Horst, who are seeded 22nd, will be seeking to better their ninth-place finish together at the 2013 Stare Jablonki worlds where the Austrians won their pool and split a pair of matches against the two teams that played for the gold medal. Entering the 2015 FIVB World Tour season, Doppler and Horst’s best finishes together have been a second (Stare Jablonki 2012) and fourth (Stare Jablonki 2014). Both players have Olympic credentials as Doppler and Horst were one of the last teams to qualify for the London 2012 Summer Games where they placed 19th. Horst placed fifth (Florian Gosch) and Doppler ninth (Peter Gartmayer) at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Doppler, who has been hampered during his career with three knee surgeries, has played in more FIVB events than any other Austrian. Doppler also qualified for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games with Nikki Berger, but had to withdraw due to knee surgery.
