The newest team from the United States on the FIVB circuit, USA’s Day/Kessy will be seeded 19th at the FIVB World Championships. Day, 27 and 6-1, lives in Hermosa Beach, Calif. and Kessy, 37, 6-0 resides down the coast in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. and together they have played in just one FIVB World Tour event entering 2015. Overall, Day has played in 33 FIVB international events including 17 with Summer Ross with whom she won a silver medal in 2013. Kessy is a veteran of 106 FIVB events of which 78 were with April Ross with whom she won 10 gold medals, the silver medal at the 2012 Olympics and the gold medal at the 2009 FIVB World Championships. This will be Day’s second FIVB World Championship (17th with Summer Ross-2013) and Kessy’s fifth appearance. Day played college at Loyola Marymount University and Kessy was an All-America at the University of Southern California.
