Lausanne, Switzerland, March 20, 2015 - With just 98 days remaining before the start of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships The Netherlands 2015, the entry lists for the tournament have been finalised.
Men's main drawWomen's main drawBoth men’s and women’s entries feature the world’s best teams ready to compete to be crowned world champions and with the lists finalised the drawing of lots will take place in The Hague on March 30, with the match schedule to follow a few days later.
The World Championships run across four venues in the Netherlands from June 26 until July 5. The finals will take place in The Hague, which has been an FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour venue since 2009 and matches will also take place in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Apeldoorn.
The FIVB National Federation Entry Ranking determines 23 of the sides in the entry list, with four teams joining them per continental confederation and two per gender automatically qualifying from the host federation.
The entry lists are completed by three wild card entries per gender; two teams chosen by the FIVB and one by the host nation.
Teams will be competing to succeed China’s Zhang Xi and Chen Xue as women’s world champions and Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen as men’s world champions. The two teams won gold at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, Mazury 2013.
There is a prize fund of $1 million on offer with $70,000 going to the winners along with 500 FIVB world rankings points.
