Russia's Evgenia Ukolova and Ekaterina Birlova surprised 11th seeded Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst in the first elimination round in Rotterdam on Wednesday.
The recently reunited Russian girls needed only two sets: 21-16, 21-16.
Ludwig and Walkenhorst seemed to suffer from the soaring heat on the Katendrecht centre court and could not get a grip on the match.
They saved two match points, but surrendered at 21-16.
Ukolova and Birlova will face another German team in the next round, 4th seeded Katrin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler.
