Countdown to World Championships reaches 100-day mark

The Hague, Netherlands, March 18, 2015 - With only 100 days to go until the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships The Netherlands 2015, official countdown clocks were revealed in the four host cities. "Beach volleyball fever is mounting," said tournament director Bas van de Goor.

At noon on Wednesday, Dutch host cities The Hague, Amsterdam, Apeldoorn and Rotterdam revealed large countdown clocks in their city centers. These clocks will notify citizens and visitors of the upcoming FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in the Netherlands.

The Dutch men’s beach volleyball teams playing in the four cities during the World Championships presented the countdown clocks.

"Ticket sales are strong. Especially for the opening night and the final matches in The Hague, tickets are going fast. Since the start of the general ticket sale, there has been a lot of interest. There is also high demand from international fans. We expect that after the Drawing of Lots on March 30, the demand for tickets will be even higher."

The countdown clocks will be showcased in the host cities and at other prominent locations in the Netherlands over the next 100 days. "From now on, interest in the World Championships will only increase. A series of activities and events in the coming months will make sports fans everywhere aware of the competition."
