Keemink and Vismans claim wild card for World Championships

The Hague, Netherlands, March 6, 2015 - Wessel Keemink and Sven Vismans have qualified for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships The Netherlands 2015 after winning the wild card event in The Hague on Friday.

In an exciting final, Keemink and Vismans narrowly beat  Dirk Boelhé and Jannes van der Ham 2-1 (15-21, 21-13, 17-15).
The final between the two top-seeded teams was tense until the very last point with Keemink and Vismans ending the match on their third match point.

The winners of the wild card will play their matches in the Preliminary Phase of the World Championships in Amsterdam, it was announced on Friday.

Keemink/Vismans are the fourth Dutch men’s team to obtain qualification for the World Championships. Reinder Nummerdor/Christiaan Varenhorst, Alexander Brouwer/Robert Meeuwsen and Steven van de Velde/Michiel van Dorsten have qualified through their results on the FIVB World Tour.

In May and June, a fifth Dutch berth is at stake in the Dutch Premier League. That prospect may give some comfort to Friday’s runners-up Boelhé/Van der Ham.
