Kadziola and Szalankiewicz out to stop Brazilian legends

 
Amsterdam, the Netherlands, July 1, 2015 – Polish pair Michal Kadziola and Jakub Szalankiewicz will have to knock out former champions Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos if they want to progress further in the Netherlands 2015, FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships. 

The Brazilians are the team in form though and won all three pool matches to remain in Amsterdam.

Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos have played together 2002 through 2010 before reuniting in 2014. They are playing in their 94th FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour tournament together.
Emanuel has played in 170 FIVB World Tour final fours with 76 gold, 37 silver, 41 bronze medals and 16 4th place finishes.
Ricardo has played in 126 FIVB World Tour final fours with 55 gold, 30 silver, 23 bronze medals and 18 4th place finishes.
Emanuel’s and Ricardo’s last Final Four was a Silver at São Paulo in September, 2014.
Emanuel and Ricardo won the gold medal in the Olympic Games in 2004 (Athens) and the bronze medal in 2008 (Beijing).
Emanuel and Ricardo are tied with the most Olympic medals with 3 (one each gold, silver, bronze).
Emanuel finished 9th in the Olympic Games with Ze Marco de Melo in 1996 (Atlanta), finished 9th with Jose Loiola in 2000 (Sydney), and won the silver medal with Alison Cerutti in 2012 (London).
