The Hague, Netherlands, March 19, 2015 - ‘In de ban van beachvolleybal’ tells the story of beach volleyball in the Netherlands. The book will be published this spring in the build-up to the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships The Netherlands 2015.
Beach volleyball has developed into one of the most viewed, visited and fastest growing Olympic sports. It has enjoyed similar growth in the Netherlands over the last 25 years and the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in the Hague, Amsterdam, Apeldoorn and Rotterdam are a symbol of the sport's expansion in the country.
‘In de ban van beachvolleybal’ (Under the spell of beach volleyball) contains stories about the roots and culture of beach volleyball, its image, growth and development. The history of the sport is told by the founders of the sport and its best players.
Contributors to the book are journalists who have followed the sport over the past 25 years. The book is also illustrated with the best photographic material, resulting in a reference work that will appeal to all sports enthusiasts.
