Playing together for the first-time this season on the FIVB World Tour, Jackson and Fañe enter the campaign after playing in four continental finals this season with gold medal finishes at events in Peru and Bolivia, and seconds in Chile and Venezuela. Prior to this season, the Venezuelans played once together in 2005 when Jackson and Fañe placed second at the under-21 World Championships in Rio where the pair dropped the finale to Martins Plavins and Aleksandrs Samoilovs of Latvia. Both played in the 2013 World Championships in Poland with Jackson 37th with Leon Colina and Fañe 17th with Igor Hernández. Jackson and Fañe participated in December in Continental Cup action, but played with different partners as Venezuela won all six matches over pairs from Columbia and Ecuador. Fañe has been playing on the FIVB World Tour since 2008 with a career best placement being a fifth in 2013 in Russia (Anapa) with Igor Hernandez. Fañe and Hernandez participated in the “toughest” pool in London 2012 Olympic Games where the top two finishers played in the bronze medal match. Jackson’s has been a regular on the world tour since 2007 with a career best of seventh at a 2008 seventh in China (Sanya).
