Seeded 23rd in the 2015 World Championships, Kapa and McHugh enter the 2015 season with 15 FIVB World Tour events together.  The pair’s bronze medal at last season’s stop in Klagenfurt was Australia’s first podium placement since 2008 on the international circuit.  Prior to Klagenfurt finish, Kapa and McHugh’s best previous placement was a fifth at the 2013 Grand Slam in Moscow. Kapa and McHugh placed ninth together at the 2013 Stare Jablonki worlds.  The Aussies started their partnership at the end of the 2012 season when Kapa and McHugh teamed to win the Asian continental championship in China.  Two years later, Kapa and McHugh repeated as the continental gold medal winners in an event also in China.  Kapa started playing on the FIVB World Tour in 2007 with McHugh joining the circuit in 2008.  Kapa has 60 FIVB World Tour events to his credit at the start of 2015 and McHugh 62.
