Mexico’s most successful men’s team on the FIVB World Tour, Ontiveros and Virgen will be seeded 36th in the 2015 World Championships. The pair posted their country’s first-ever podium placement in the history of the world tour with a bronze medal finish last season Puerto Vallarta. Ontiveros and Virgen, who placed 17th together at the 2013 Stare Jablonki World Championships, have won seven NORCECA gold medals the past two seasons with nine podium places and 10 “final four” finishes in 15 events. Both players competed in the London 2012 Olympic World Cup qualifier in Moscow, but with different partners. Ontiveros and his brother Ullses won three of nine matches in Moscow while Virgen and Aldo Miramontes posted a 5-4 record as Mexico just missed qualifying for London.
