USA’s Fendrick/Sweat will be seeded 15th at the FIVB World Championships. Fendrick, 33 and 6-1, makes her home in Carlsbad, Calif. while Sweat, 29, 5-8 lives in Estero, Fla., and the new duo has played in nine FIVB events with two fifths and domestically in the U.S. they earned five silver medals in six AVP events in 2014. Overall, Fendrick, who played collegiately at UCLA, has 71 FIVB events with four fourth place finishes while Sweat, who competed in college volleyball at Florida Gulf University, has played in 24 FIVB events with one bronze medal. Sweat was 17th with Jennifer Fopma in the 2013 FIVB World Championships. Fendrick has played in three FIVB World Championships and in 2011 (with Brooke Niles) and 2013 (with Brittany Hochevar) she finished fifth both years.
